Hats by Ellie Langley

Hats by Ellie Langley

Provenance and quality you won't find in any other hat

Ellie keeps a small, varied flock of rescue sheep purely for their wool at her smallholding in Upper Weardale, high in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  The smallholding is off-grid and powered entirely by renewable forms of energy.

Having spent many years as a British wool specialist felt-maker making, among other things, many hundreds of felt hats, in the summer of 2015 Ellie undertook a millinery course in order to work on a new range of hats. She spent a year developing these hats which are made from a combination of fleeces from her own sheep and British wool tweeds, including Harris Tweeds and tweeds woven from yarns from Ellie's flock. The hats are handstitched and are lined with carefully sourced organic cottons.

Hats by Ellie Langley can be made to order, Please contact Ellie to discuss sizes, costs, timescales (typically between three and six months) and your requirements. Ellie has a handful of hats in stock, some of which you can see in the gallery.
